This focused issue on “Precision Surgery for Lung Cancer” is edited by Dr. Marcelo F. Jimenez, from Department of Thoracic Surgery, Salamanca University Hospital, University of Salamanca, Salamanca, Spain.

Dr. Jimenez is now a Professor and Head of Thoracic Surgery Department at Salamanca University Hospital, Director of the Robotic Surgery Programme at Salamanca University Hospital, and Director of Simulation and Experimental Surgery at Salamanca University School of Medicine. He has extensive experience in minimal invasive surgery for lung cancer and in the surgical and multidisciplinary management of patients with complex thoracic oncological diagnoses. He is actively involved in research and leads a number of research programs that study various clinical and translational aspects of lung cancer.
